SATISFY YOUR APPETITE . . . EXQUISITELY. AFFORDABLY.

Our Designers

When you work with Mother Hubbard, you will be working with award-winning designers who have pioneered new paths in aesthetic and functional comfort.

We are also especially proud that the Petrie family members who own and operate Mother Hubbard's Custom Cabinetry play key leadership roles, both locally and nationally, in the kitchen and bath industry.  In addition, all MHCC designers are active in the local chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

John Petrie, CMKBD

John is very active and respected throughout the kitchen and bath industry.  Having earned his CKD, CBD and CMKBD credentials, John has over 20 years experience in designing custom kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, wine cellars and home theaters.  His early education was in architectural design, but his defining specialty and advanced training has been in kitchens and baths.

John has been recognized by the NKBA, The Society of Certified Kitchen Designers and the Society of Certified Bath Designers for his exceptional service to the industry as well as his local community. John's experience so impressed his peers that he was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the NKBA, serving as the 2011 national Treasurer, in 2012 as national Vice President, and 2013 as President Elect. In the past, John served as both the local NKBA Treasurer from 1993-98, as well as its president from 1999-2000. From 2002 thru 2008, he served as liaison between his local chapter and the NKBA, as the Chapter Representative.

As testament to his considerable talent, John has won numerous design awards from the NKBA for residential kitchen design.  His work has also been featured locally and nationally in several kitchen and bath consumer magazines.  Local homeowners are indeed fortunate to be able to tap into such a top-drawer, creative resource right here in Mechanicsburg.

Stacey Kocevar

Stacey's design career has taken her from her home in Harrisburg, to Knoxville, then Baltimore, and finally back to Central Pennsylvania with Mother Hubbard's. After graduating with honors from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design, she married and moved to Tennessee, where she developed her skills for high-end kitchen and bath design. While there, several of Stacey's kitchen designs were featured in the Spring, 2007, and Fall 2008 edition of Fantastic Kitchens magazine, one of the South's leading design publications. Since then, Stacey and her family have been able to return to the mid-state to make their home in Harrisburg. During this time, she gained additional experience while living in Baltimore, at one of that region's leading kitchen and bath design studios.

Joining the design professionals at Mother Hubbard's has been a dream come true for Stacey. She benefits from the great collaborative atmosphere, where her creativity, eye for quality and attention to detail combine with the superior skill level of the design team to produce "wow" results for her clients.

Les Petrie, CMKBD

Les Petrie, CMKBD, came to his career in custom kitchen design with an impressive history of sales, training and design experience in what was then an emerging x-ray/medical imaging industry.

Possessing this wealth of knowledge, Les put his experience to good use and fulfilled his entrepreneurial dreams with the purchase of Mother Hubbard's Custom Cabinetry in 1986.  He soon earned his CKD and CBD credentials, and was one of the first CMKBDs in the nation.

This leadership posture continued to shape the remainder of his long and illustrious career, as Les has held nearly every officer position at both the chapter and national levels of the NKBA, including serving as president in 2003.  Les has also won national and regional design awards, and continues to serve as a guest speaker at industry and allied association functions both here and abroad.

Les continues to write for local and national publications, and currently practices as an independent designer and NKBA instructor from his home in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
